PEI pets stay happy and comfortable in their familiar home environment

For nearly two decades, Marius and Roosmari have managed high-stakes behavioural crises in severely traumatised adolescents under strict ministry oversight. They have been entrusted with parenting 27 children in this capacity, honing exceptional skills in care, crisis intervention, and long-term relationship building. 

 

At home, their commitment to nurturing extends equally to animals and nature. They have personally adopted five working-line dogs and sponsored many more, while also providing a forever home to four rescued Bengal cats through Animal Welfare. Their current family includes a German Shepherd, a Dutch Shepherd, and two Dobermans.

 

Roosmari is an accomplished expert botanist who regularly advises passionate plant collectors across the region.

 

Together, Marius and Roosmari bring profound expertise and genuine passion for people, animals, and botany—qualities that define every aspect of While Away PEI.  With this depth of experience, integrity, and personal investment, you can place absolute confidence in While Away PEI for the care of your pets, plants, and home.

Your first visit is a special get-to-know-you meeting! One of our friendly team members will come to your home.

 

They will:
• Meet you
• Meet your pets
• Talk with you about exactly what you need.

 

Collect important information e.g. emergency contacts, location of the main shutoff valve etc. We call this the orientation visit. It helps us understand your pets and your home perfectly so we can give the best care

All payments are handled online or by our Director of Operations, Beverly Dickson. Our team members who visit your home do not take money or handle payments. Thank you!

*General Terms & Conditions:​

Booking Policy -Reservation and Booking Confirmation:


To secure and confirm any requested dates for services, the dates will only be considered booked or reserved once the first Services  Bill / fee has been paid in full. Payment of this fee is required prior to holding "as confirmed" any appointment / booked dates.


First In-Home Orientation Visit 
• The First In-Home Orientation Visit is a mandatory, one-time appointment.
• This visit must be completed before any ongoing or regular services can begin.
• It allows us to assess your needs, discuss expectations, and ensure a safe and appropriate start to service delivery.


Cancellation and Refund Policy
• Cancellation of the Membership or the First In-Home Orientation Visit will not result in a refund of the paid fee(s).
• The Membership fee and First In-Home Orientation Visit fee are non-refundable under all circumstances, including but not limited to: changes in personal circumstances, rescheduling needs, or decision to not proceed with services.
• Once paid, these fees cover the administrative costs, scheduling, and preparation for the orientation visit, regardless of whether the visit occurs or services continue.

• All bookings are subject to availability and our confirmation.
